Prayer for Friday (Posadas Navidenas)

Posadas Navidenas is a Hispanic Christian tradition that commemorates the travel to Bethlehem and search for lodging of Mary and Joseph. It lasts for 9 days from the 16th until the 24th (Christmas Eve.)

My Queen, My Mother, I offer
myself entirely to Thee.

And to show my devotion to Thee,
I offer Thee this day, my eyes,
my ears, my mouth, my heart,
my whole being without reserve.

Wherefore, good Mother, as I am thine own, keep me,
guard me as Thy property and possession.
Amen

(traditional Catholic prayer to Mary)

Today’s Affirmation:

“I can change my destiny by changing my thoughts.”

Prayer for Wednesday (Feast of St. Andrew)

Today is the Christian Feast of Saint Andrew, believed to be the first Apostle of Jesus. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Prussia and of the Order of the Golden Fleece.

O my God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,
I have sinned against You, Whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with Your help, to do penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.
Amen

(a Catholic Act of Contrition prayer)

Today’s Affirmation:

“I forgive myself for being imperfect like everybody else.”

Prayer for Wednesday (All Souls Day / Day of the Dead)

All Souls Day is a Roman Catholic observance devoted to prayer and remembrance for friends and loved ones who have passed.

Merciful Father,
hear our prayer and console us.
As we renew our faith in Your Son,
whom You raised from the dead,
strengthen our hope
that all our departed brothers and sisters
will share in His resurrection,
who lives and reigns
with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen

(Catholic Collect from the Mass for the Dead)

Eternal Rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.

(Requiem Aeternam)

Today’s Affirmation:

“I am assertive and at the same time, considerate about others.”

Prayer for Monday

Lailat al Miraj begins at sunset.

Lord, I believe:
I wish to believe in You.
Lord, let my faith be full and unreserved,
and let it penetrate my thought,
my way of judging Divine things and human things.
Lord, let my faith be joyful
and give peace and gladness to my spirit,
and dispose it for prayer with God
and conversation with men,
so that the inner bliss of its fortunate possession
may shine forth in sacred and secular conversation.
Lord, let my faith be humble and not presume
to be based on the experience of my thought and of my
feeling;
but let it surrender to Your Spirit.

Amen.

(adapted from a traditional Catholic prayer)

Today’s Affirmation:

“I’m firmly on the path of achievement and success.”

Prayer for Sunday (Trinity Sunday)

(Note: today is also All Saints Day in the Orthodox Christian church)

God the Father of Heaven, Response: have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
God the Holy Ghost,
Holy Trinity, One God,
Father from Whom are all things,
Son through Whom are all things,
Holy Ghost in Whom are all things,
Holy and undivided Trinity,
Father everlasting,
Only-begotten Son of the Father,
Spirit Who preceedeth from the Father and the Son,
Co-eternal Majesty of Three Divine Persons,
Father, the Creator,
Son, the Redeemer,
Holy Ghost, the Comforter,
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts,
Who art, Who wast, and Who art to come,
God Most High, Who inhabitest eternity,
To Whom alone are due all honor and glory,
Who alone doest great wonders,
Power infinite,
Wisdom, incomprehensible,
Love unspeakable,

Be merciful,
Spare us, O Holy Trinity.
Be merciful,
Graciously hear us, O Holy Trinity.

(From the Roman Catholic Litany to the Holy Trinity)

Today’s Affirmation:

“I understand that change is inevitable.
I welcome change and adapt myself to change.”

Prayer for Friday

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend me from battle;
Be my safeguard
against the malice and snares
of the negative seen or unseen energy forces.

Rebuke the negative energy forces, Oh God
I humbly beseech you.
Oh Prince of the heavenly host,
by the Divine Power of God
thrust into the darkness,
all the negative seen and unseen energy forces,
and all of the ugly spirits who wander about the world
seeking the ruination of souls.

In Jesus Christ’s name I pray,
who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit
One God
forever and ever.
Amen

Today’s Affirmation:

“God protects me every day, in every way.”

(Affirmations are a powerful tool for self change and self-actualization. For best results using affirmations speak the affirmation out loud in the morning, mid-day, and at night. When speaking affirmations, say the affirmation multiple times each session. Some suggest saying it as many as 10 times each time you speak it. I believe a minimum of 3 times is necessary to get any real effect.)

Prayer for Sunday

My Queen, My Mother,
I offer myself entirely to thee.
And to show my devotion to thee,
I offer thee this day, my eyes,
my ears, my mouth, my heart,
my whole being without reserve.
Wherefore, good Mother, as I am thine own,
keep me, guard me as thy property and possession.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
