Prayer for Friday (Simchat Torah)

The Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah ends at sunset. The Navajo Sing in gratitude for the harvest ends today.

Before we can pray, “Lord, Thy Kingdom come,”
we must be willing to pray, “My Kingdom go.”
~ Alan Redpath

Blessed are You, LORD our God, king of the universe, who gave us the Torah of truth and set everlasting life in our midst. Blessed are You, LORD, giver of the Torah.

(prayer said after reading from the Torah)
