Prayer for Wednesday (Litha)

Today is the Pagan/Wiccan celebration of Litha (Summer Solstice) in the Northern Hemisphere and Yule (Winter Solstice) in the Southern Hemisphere.

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant
I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty-one,
I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.
~ Author unknown, commonly attributed to Mark Twain

Gracious Lady, I give thanks for my family.
I give thanks for my mother who gave me life
and cared for me when I could not care for myself.
I give thanks to my father who watched over me and
taught me right from wrong.
I give thanks for my brothers and sisters,
who are always there for me.
Bless each and every one of them.
Bring them peace and prosperity.
So mote it be.
