Almighty King, who sits upon the throne of mercy,
You act graciously, pardoning the sins of your people
and making them pass away one by one.
You often grant pardon to sinners, forgiveness to transgressors,
dealing generously with all mortals
and not treating them according to their wickedness.
O G-d, You who instructed us to recite Your thirteen divine qualities,
remember, in our favor, the covenant of these thirteen qualities;
as You revealed them to humble Moses, as it is written:
“The Lord came down in the cloud, and Moses placed himself there beside him and proclaimed:
‘The Lord, The Lord is a merciful and gracious G-d,
slow to anger and abounding in kindness and truth;
He keeps mercy for thousands of generations,
forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, clearing those who repent.’
O pardon our iniquity and sin, and make us Your very own.
Our Father, are truly kind, forgiving and merciful to all who call upon You.
Hashem1, Hashem, G-d, Compassionate and Gracious,
Slow to Anger, and Abundant in Kindness and Truth,
Preserver of Kindness for thousands of generations,
Forgiver of iniquity, willful sin and error, and Who cleanses.
(Jewish prayer of repentance)
1 can be roughly translated as “Lord”.
“I forgive and release everything in my past.
I choose to fill my road with joy.”
