Prayer for Friday (Yule)

Today is the Pagan/Wiccan holiday of Yule in the Northern Hemisphere and Litha in the Southern Hemisphere. Today also begins the Hopi & Zuni Soyala New Year Festival.

Say your truth—kindly, but fully and completely.
Live your truth, gently, but totally and consistently.
Change your truth easily and quickly
when your experience brings you new clarity.
~ Neale Donald Walsch, Conversations with God

Charge of the Goddess

Hear the words of the Star Goddess, the dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven, whose body encircles the universe …

“I who am the beauty of the green Earth,
The white Moon among the Stars,
And the Mystery of the Waters,
I call upon your soul to arise and come unto Me.

For I am the Soul of Nature, which gives life to the universe.
From Me all things proceed,
And unto Me they must return.

Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices,
For behold – all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals.

Let there be beauty and strength,
Power and compassion,
Honour and humility,
Mirth and reverence within you.

And you who seek to know Me,
Know that your seeking and yearning will avail you not,
Unless you know the Mystery:

For if that which you seek you find not within yourself,
You will never find it without.

For behold, I have been with you from the beginning,
And I am that which is attained at the end of desire.”

Prayer for Tuesday (Ostara / Mabon)

Today is the Pagan/Wiccan cross-quarter holiday of Ostara (or Mabon if you are in the Southern Hemisphere.)

Great Mother,
we thank you for this food which has come from your bounty.
We thank you for all of your gifts that sustain us.
We receive all your gifts with gratitude and joy.
Blessed Be.

Prayer for Thursday (Imbolc)

Today is the Pagan/Wiccan holiday of Imbolc (or Lammas if you live in the Southern Hemisphere.) It is also Candlemas for Christians and Triodion for Orthodox Christians.

Persephone, crocus in the snow,
light and life of somber Hades’ realm.
In the devotion of a mother and child,
in welcoming sorrow, in comforting grief,
in joy awakened, in sweet homecoming,
in these we know you, child of Demeter.
Persephone, queen of the underworld,
friend of those who mourn and those who are mourned,
bright jewel of the earth, fair flower of the field,
we thank you for hope, for patience, for faith,
for the longed-for return of great love.
Persephone, we praise and honor you.
