Prayer for Tuesday

I have lived on the lip of insanity,
wanting to know reasons,
knocking on a door. It opens.
I’ve been knocking from the inside!
~ Jelaluddin Rumi

In Thy name, Lord, I lay me down and
in Thy name will I rise up…

O Allah,
Thou art the first and before Thee there is nothing;
Thou art the last and after Thee there is nothing;

Thou art the outmost and above Thee there is nothing;
Thou art the inmost and below Thee there is nothing….

Waken me, O Allah, in the hour most pleasing to Thee
and use me in the works most pleasing to Thee,
that Thou mayest bring me ever nearer to Thyself.

(Muslim bedtime prayer)

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

He is God! Thou seest us, O my God, gathered around this table, praising Thy bounty, with our gaze set upon Thy Kingdom. O Lord! Send down upon us Thy heavenly food and confer upon us Thy blessing. Thou art verily the Bestower, the Merciful, the Compassionate.

Prayer for Saturday (Milad un Nabi)

Today is the day that many Muslims celebrate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Allah’s Peace be upon him.)

My Lord, grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.
Let the example I set for the future generations be a good one.
Make me one of the inheritors of the blissful Paradise…
And do not forsake me on the Day of Resurrection.

(Qur’an, Surah Al-Shuara 83-85, 87)
