Prayer for Thursday

Anticipate the day as if it was your birthday
and you are turning six again.

A Child’s Prayer for Morning

Now, before I run to play,
Let me not forget to pray
To God who kept me through the night
And waked me with the morning light.
Help me, Lord, to love thee more
Than I ever loved before,
In my work and in my play
Be thou with me through the day.
Amen.

Prayer for Monday (Rosh Hoshanah)

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year celebration, continues today.

We must be willing to let go of the life we planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
~ Joseph Campbell

Dear God, help me to resolve any and all unresolved issues from the past and let go of any hurt, anger, grief, fears, and resentment so I won’t take these things out on others, and so I will be free to fully live and fully love. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Your name.
Amen.

Prayer for Sunday (Rosh Hoshanah)

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year celebration, begins at sundown today.

Without freedom from the past,
there is no freedom at all,
because the mind is never new, fresh, innocent.
~ Jiddu Krishnamurti

Father Mother God,
Help me to let go of the past.
Help me to release the resentments, pain, disappointments, and regrets
of the things I have done
or not done.
Help me to release the resentments and emotional attachments
of the things others have done
or not done.
Keep me in the present
and to not worry about the future.
And so it is.
