Prayer for Saturday

Rab on concluding his prayer added the following:
May it be Thy will, O Lord our God, to grant us long life, a life of peace, alive of good, alive of blessing, a life of sustenance, a life of bodily vigor, a life in which there is fear of sin, a life free from shame and confusion, a life of riches and honor, a life in which we may be filled with love of Torah and the fear of heaven, a life in which Thou shalt fulfill all the desires of out heart for good!

(Berakoth, Chapter II, 16)

Prayer for Friday

God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The likeness of His light is as a niche where a lamp burns — the lamp in a glass and the glass, as it were, a star for brilliance. The lamp is kindled from a blessed tree, an olive neither of the east nor the west, the oil of which is almost incandescent of itself without the touch of fire. Light upon light. God guides to His light whom He wills.

(Qur’an, Surah 24:35, Al-Noor)

It is glory enough for me
That I should be your servant.
It is grace enough for me
That You should be my Lord.

(Arabic prayer)

Today’s Affirmation:

“All things are possible when you are with God.”

Prayer for Thursday

O thou who camest from above,
The pure celestial fire to impart,
Kindle a flame of sacred love
On the mean alter of my heart.

There let it for thy glory burn
With inextinguishable blaze,
And trembling to its source return
In humble prayer, and fervent praise.

(Charles Wesley, 1707-1788)

Lord, make me according to thy heart.

(Brother Lawrence, 1611-1691)
